A major development has surfaced in one of the New York Rangers potential trade targets as it was revealed that he requested a trade from his current organization.

Recently the New York Rangers Have been linked to Chicago Blackhawks top defenseman and now Chris Drury just might be able to acquire him.
In a recent interview it was revealed that Chicago Blackhawks top defenseman Seth Jones is working out a way to be traded from the Blackhawks organization, giving the Rangers a better chance at acquiring him.
Jones found a way to become a solid defenseman in Chicago. However given his career goals, a rebuild was never what the defenseman wanted.
Jones revealed that GM Kyle Davidson and his Agent Pat Brisson have begun a discussion regarding the possibility of a trade. But have ran into some issues as he carries a hefty cap hit of $9.5 Million AAV.
«We all know the whole story and what happened when I got here,» Jones said. «I would like to give myself a chance to win in my career. I know that the money is not an easy thing to move, and that's what we're figuring out.»

«If it happens, it happens. Obviously, while I'm here with the Blackhawks, they have my full effort [and] full attention to this team to try to get this team better.»

New York Rangers emerge as a potential suitor for Blackhawks defensman Seth Jones

Recently the New York Rangers have been having trouble on their defensive end and are looking to make some changes, as they recently traded defensman Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks.
Along with that, defensman Ryan Lindgren has been surrounded by a ton of trade talk this season, indicating that the Rangers are ready for another drastic change.
So if the Blackhawks and Rangers could find a a third team to retain some of Jones' salary a deal could possibly happen, or even if the Blackhawks could retain half the cost of $4.25 million until 2030. That would sweeten the deal for both parties.
Jones has a hard-nosed style of play fans would love, and offers an offensive upside as well, that desperately needed in New York.
In 255 games with the Chicago Blackhawks, he's scored 145 points (31 G, 114 A), but has tallied 6 goals and 20 assists just this season.
