During his post game coverage, he was very blunt and very upfront with the media on how he is seeing his team play the game and he does not like what he sees.
Over the past couple of weeks, the trend for the Rangers has not been favorable as the team has been badly outshot at times and has shown an inability to take control of games.
Laviolette brought that to the forefront along with several other problems that the Rangers are facing.
One issue is the constant leaning on their goaltending that has been fantastic at times just to keep the team in the game. Laviolette also spoke of the lack of response, but the team has shown which has put his crosshairs strictly on the leadership group which include Chris Kreider, Jacob Trouba, Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad.
This post game interview was one of the most visibly frustrated moments for Laviolette during his time as head coach of the Rangers. Since taking over the team, it has had success and has gone far including a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.
He is likely beginning to feel the heat as his team continues to slip away from the upper echelon of the Metropolitan Division.
With reports recently a possible trades of Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba which has yet to be substantiated, it's safe to say that the dressing room is quite uneasy these days and it will take time for the team to right itself.
The important point is that the Rangers will not panic at this time and will try to play out the issues before general manager Chris Drury decides to make drastic changes which would likely come near the trade deadline.
