New York Rangers superstar goaltender Igor Shesterkin is making headlines following a classy gesture towards a young fan before last night's game.
Yesterday, the New York Rangers were gearing up for a thrilling showdown against the rival New York Islanders.
That said, the Rangers were in the midst of their usual pregame warmups, where superstar goaltender Igor Shesterkin noticed a young fan holding up a sign, asking for a stick.
Igor Shesterkin proves he's a great guy
As pregame warmups wrapped up, Igor Shesterkin took it upon himself to make this young fan's day by giving him his goalie stick -- an incredible gesture to say the least.
Igor Shesterkin went into the dressing room after finishing pregame skate, then walked back out with a new stick and gave it to a fan with a sign behind the bench.
According to Shesterkin, upon giving his stick to the young fan, Shersetkin noticed the young fan was crying when he came back onto the ice.
Hockey fans can be ruthless when it comes to free giveaways, and the young fan was robbed from a memory of a lifetime when another fan stole Igor's stick from him.
Well, Igor Shesterkin took it upon himself to the the NHL his true colours, going back to the young fan and giving him another stick.
"I saw someone asking about a stick. I gave the stick, and someone stole my stick and I brought another one because the kid was crying."

I think it's safe to say that tears of sadness quickly became tears of joy, and this gesture by the Rangers net minder will be something this kid never forgets.
To make matters even sweeter, the New York Rangers laid a relentless beat down on the Islanders, spanking them by a whopping score of 5-1.
With last night's victory, the New York Rangers inch one step closer to a wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference.
