Critical Update From Player Agent On Blake Wheeler Status
The Rangers have suffered two season ending injuries.
One was Filip Chytil, who hasn't played a game since November 2nd.
The other was Blake Wheeler.
While there is no hope for Chytil to return this season, a door may have been left open for Wheeler to return at some point in the playoffs, as explained by NHL player agent, Matt Keator on The Sick Podcast.
He confirmed that Wheeler underwent successful surgery and is still going to try and return for the playoffs!
Take a listen:
"He's not giving up. He wants to come back and try to play in the playoffs."
That would be huge to have Wheeler back in time for the playoffs.
Especially to bolster the depth for the team, which has been tested all season.
It's still unknown what or if the Rangers will make any moves prior to the trade deadline.
But hearing he might be able to return in a critical juncture is good news.
