The New York Rangers have just confirmed some very unsettling news regarding veteran defenseman, who was forced to leave Saturday night's game after colliding head first into the boards.

On Saturday night, New York Rangers defenseman Carson Soucy was forced to leave the game early in the second period after being tangled up with Pittsburgh Penguins forward Rickard Rakell, and colliding head first into the boards.

Very scary as Soucy goes head first into the boards, he looks like he went out there for a second. #NYR
Certainly a very scary moment for the New York Rangers and the 31-year old defenseman, However the good news is that he was able to get back onto his own feet and head to the locker room.

New York Rangers Confirm Devastating Update On Defenseman Carson Soucy

Unfortunately as the third period started Carson Soucy wasn't seen on the Rangers bench, and not much longer the New York Rangers took to social media to confirm that he will be sidelined for the remainder of the game with an upper-body injury.
UPDATE: Carson Soucy (upper body) will not return tonight.

Not to jump to any conclusions but it's very possible that he has sustained a concussion after the way he collided into the boards. But again we will have to wait for an official update from the organization.
Certainly something the New York Rangers can't afford as they are already dealing with several other injuries early in the season.
The most recent being Vincent Trocheck who is considered week-to-week now after sustaining an upper-body injury during Thursday nights game against the Buffalo Sabres, captain J.T. Miller who is pushing through an injury he sustained in the offseason, along with Artemi Panarin.
On behalf of everyone here at NY Rangers Insider, we truly hope it's nothing to serious and the veteran can return sooner than later.
