The Seattle Kraken geared up for a game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday night, and had to make some last minute roster changes due to a trade being involved.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman was the first to break the news that the Seattle Kraken have re-acquired forward Daniel Sprong from the Vancouver Canucks, and in return the Canucks get future considerations.
However, Elliotte Friedman was not the only to confirm this trade, as Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin did as well just moments after the trade happened.
During the off-season Daniel Sprong signed a one-year deal with the Vancouver Canucks with a salary cap of $975,000, after playing the following year with the Detroit Red Wings.
Sprong was originally drafted 46th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins back in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, and has shown plenty of potential since joining the league.
Sprong first entered the league with the Pittsburgh Penguins back in 2017-18 and didn't have a breakout year until 2022-23 with the Seattle Kraken where he scored 21 goals, and had 25 assists in 66 games.
Daniel Sprong posted a career high back in the 2022-23 season with the Seattle Kraken where he managed to tally 22 goals and 25 assists for a total of 47 points in just 66 games.
However, since then Sprong has been on a bit of struggle after the Kraken decided to non-tender him, which led him to sign a one-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings in the 2023-24 season.
Unfortunately the struggle didn't stop there as Daniel Sprong has had a hard time with the Vancouver Canucks as he only scored one goal and three assists in nine games with the team.
