22-year old hockey player charged by police for breaking an officials arm mid-game

22-year old Casper Gillberg has been charged by the police for breaking a referee's arm after a forceful hit that sent him flying into the boards.

Back in November of 2023, a shocking incident emerged from the Sweden hockey community, as Casper Gillberg slammed an official into the boards which ultimately resulted in the ref to break his arm. Now, authorities have ruled to press criminal charges.

When the incident took place, Gillberg was immediately suspended for the remaining of the 2023 season, along with the entire 2024 season. However, he has received an extension in suspension and will remained out until May 2025.

A recent has surfaced from Expressen.se that Gillberg has been charged with assault and prosecutors hope for the 22-year-old player will receive fine close to $3,000 USD.

As of right now, It still remains uncertain when Casper Gillberg will go on trial.
