The Columbus Blue Jackets have released heartwarming details on how they plan to honour Johnny Gaudreau on their opening night against the Florida Panthers at Nationwide Arena.
Ever since the devastating tragedy that took the lives of Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau, the hockey community has been grieving as well as coming together to honour the two brothers and the most beautiful ways.
Now as the NHL season is about to begin, teams have paying tribute to the Gaudreau's and now we know how the Columbus Blue Jackets will honour their fallen star.
According to recent reports, on the Columbus Blue Jackets opening night in October 15th, at Nationwide Arena, where they will face off against the Stanley Cup Champions, the Florida Panthers and both teams will bring wearing warm-up jerseys that have GAUDREAU and his number 13 on the back of them
As part of the Columbus' opening night plans to honor Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, both the Blue Jackets and Panthers will wear No. 13 Gaudreau jerseys during warmups of Columbus' home opener October 15.
Truly an amazing gesture, as it's very heartwarming and kind of them to honour their friend, teammate, colleague and superstar whose life was cut short after the poor choices of one drunk driver.
Many will forever grieve the tragic loss of the Gaudreau brothers, especially the family and friends of the two brothers as it has undoubtedly been an extremely difficult six weeks.
