Elliotte Friedman opens up on about the firing of Jeff Marek on this season's first episode of 32 Thoughts with new co-host Kyle Bukauskas.

Eailer this summer, Sportsnet made an announcement that they were parting ways with longtime host and NHL analyst Jeff Marek. After a few weeks news broke that Marek had leaked information about the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
On Thursday Sportsnet had made an announcement stating that Kyle Bukauskas will be Jeff Marek's replacement for the co-host of Elliotte Friedman's 32 Thoughts segment.
However, on Friday morning Elliotte Friedman and Kyle Bukauskas hosted their first episode together, and Friedman took a moment to reflect on his time with Jeff Marek, but of course he never mentioned anything about what led to Marek's departure from Sportsnet.
Friedman also revealed that Sportsnet gave him an out on the podcast once Jeff Marek left, but ultimately he made the decision to stay.
«I'm going to take that gut punch and continue going in spite of it one of the major reasons I wanted to continue the pod is because I love it. I love doing this podcast. I love everything about it,» Friedman continued. «But number two, it's because I believe in a lot of things I believe in the audience. I have never taken the audience for granted. We are very, very lucky that we have a loyal audience.»
