Nikita Zadorov Bluntly Calls Out Teammates
Talk about subtlety.
The Calgary Flames defenseman, Nikita Zadorov, calls out his teammates ahead of tonight's game against the New York Rangers.
Definitely some blunt words for the team. What grabs the attention of everyone, is Zadorov, explaining about some of the players on his team are playing with individual mindsets:
"It was a tough road trip for us, not what we were looking for. There's some things that we need to get working on but I think the main thing for us is we have too many individuals playing for themselves. We have to figure it out. Do we want to play as a team or do you want to play as your own guy?"
This all stems from the Flames getting massively outplayed and outworked in Sunday's lopsided 6-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings, along with their rough 2-3-1 start of the season.
The memories of last year's disappointing campaign still linger when they missed the playoffs. Let's see if they can soon turn things around.
They will be playing tonight without the services of defenseman Rasmus Andersson, who will be suspended for four games, starting with tonight's tilt.
