Elliotte Friedman has just confirmed Daniel Sprong's fate with the New York Rangers

Daniel Sprong's fate with the New York Rangers has just been confirmed following latest announcement from NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman.

The New York Rangers had the perfect opportunity to claim Daniel Sprong who is a solid depth forward off waivers from the Seattle Kraken for free.

The New York Rangers have just recently been hit with several unfortunate injury's as veteran Chris Kreider and Filip Chytil have been sidelined with upper-body injures.

On Wednesday afternoon NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman revealed the Seattle Kraken have placed Daniel Sprong on waivers, giving the Rangers a perfect opportunity to acquire him for free.

Back In 2022-2023, and 2023-2024 had had consecutive 40+ point seasons in Seattle and Detroit. But as yet to still secure a full-time roster spot.

Sprong (SEA) on waivers

Sprong signed a one-year contract in Vancouver with an AAV of $975k, but then was traded back to Seattle for future considerations back on Nov. 8th.

This season Sprong has played 19 games, and scored 5 points( 2 G, 3 A), and he hasn't played to the potential we've seen him the last two seasons of his career.

However, on Thursday afternoon NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has confirmed Sprong's fate with the Rangers as he reveals that the 27-year old forward cleared waivers.
