Jonathan Quick releases an unexpected statement regarding the New York Rangers
Rangers goaltender Jonathan quick has adopted and enjoyed his new role with the New York Rangers as backup goaltender.
After winning two Stanley cups with the Los Angeles Kings and winning another even though he played a limited number of minutes with the Vegas Golden Knights back in 2022-23, Quick has seen his career resurrected and his stats line improving dramatically.
He played 26 games for the team and had a record of 18-6-2 with a goal against of 2.62 and a save percentage of .911. He was instrumental in keeping the Rangers season alive when Rangers starting goaltender Igor Shesterkin ordered between the months of December and January which allowed quick to stabilize the organization and allow Shesterkin to find his game.
He spoke about how he feels the team is coming together and how he thinks the team is building something special that could lead to a Stanley Cup win since 1994.
"We know what we have in that locker room," goalie Jonathan Quick said via NHL.com. "We know how good of a group we are. You lose and obviously you soak that loss a little bit, that stings for a little bit until you realize you have another season here to look forward to and build into, so you start preparing for that. That's the mindset." Prior to the season ending, he had signed a one-year extension worth $1.275 million. It's expected for him to continue his great play.
