New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren reveals his true colours towards the organization
New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren exposes his true colours towards the Rangers organization with his latest statement.
Ryan Lindgren, who spent nearly month as a a restricted free agent this past summer, managed to reach an agreement with the Rangers organization and signed a one-year, $4.5MM «prove it» deal three days before his scheduled arbitration hearing.
Unfortunately many believe this just may be his last season with the Rangers as his play hasn't quite reached expectations. Along with this the 26-year old missed the start of the season due to an upper-body injury.
Resulting in his future with the New York Rangers to remain unknown, especially after the Rangers have just signed Will Borgen to a five-year, $20.5M extension.
Lindgren has recently posted better results in the past few weeks, as he had managed to tally six assists and a plus-three rating in 13 games since New Year's. Along with Peter Laviolette naming him a leader within the organization and possibly become the next captain.
Here's what Lindgren had to say about the recent trade speculation surrounding his name:
«I just try and block it out,» Lindgren said about that speculation. «I don't like hearing or seeing my name included in these rumors but I know where I am with my contract and I get it, I'm just trying to do my best, focus on hockey, with what the team needs and try and enjoy it.»
Exposing his true colours towards the organization as enjoys being with the Rangers and essentially saying he doesn't want to leave.
Lindgren has skated in all of his 378 career NHL games as a Ranger since making his debut back in 2018, and has posted 12 goals, 80 assists, 92 points, and a +99 rating while averaging just over 19 minutes per game.
