The hockey community mourns the passing of German star Tobias Eder who sadly passed at 26-years old

The hockey community is mourning the tragic loss of 26-year old German National star.
It was recently announced that 26-year old hockey player, Tobias Eder had sadly passed away after his battle with cancer.
We regret to inform you that Tobias Eder, forward for Eisbären Berlin in the top-flight German league, and member of Germany's national team, has passed away at the age of 26 after his fight with cancer.
Over the course of his career, Eder had 68 goals, 129 points through 263 games played in the DEL - and 5 goals, 9 points through 27 games played with Germany's national team.
He will be dearly missed.

Eder managed to tally 22 goals and 31 points through 52 games with the Eisbären Berlin last season, he also had one goal, three points throughout seven games played with Germany's National team during the same time span.
The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund also know as DEB had released their own statement on the saddened news, along with sending their condolences to Eder's family and friends:
The DEB mourns the loss of Tobias Eder. The national player and striker for the Eisbären Berlin died at the age of 26 after a serious illness. We are stunned and shocked, we are at a loss for words. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
One of the biggest leagues in Germany, the DEL hockey league has also issued a statement on the tragic news that is sending shock waves through Germany:
The German Ice Hockey League and the entire German ice hockey family mourn the loss of Tobias Eder. The 26-year-old Eisbären Berlin striker has died after a serious illness.
In honor of Tobias, they'll be holding a minute of silence for him, stated in their post:
Our thoughts are with the family and all friends as well as with the entire organization of the Eisbären Berlin. The PENNY DEL clubs will hold a minute's silence in memory of Tobi at the upcoming games.
