Peter Laviolette Issues Emotional Statement To The Media Following Major Move
The Rangers have put Nick Bonino on waivers earlier today.
Peter Laviolette comments on Bonino being placed on waivers:
"He met with Chris Drury this morning It's the decision that was made... I've worked with Nick for a quite a few years going back to Nashville. I can't speak enough about him as a person. He's just a good guy, a good teammate. It's a tough day."
Bonino is a team-first guy who willingly sacrifices his body and does the grunt work.
But organizationally, it was hard to deny the facts. He ranks last for the Rangers in just about every analytical category and lacks foot speed they need.
It's not clear what will happen if Nick Bonino clears waivers tomorrow.
We will update as more information becomes available.
