NHL Insider reveals that the New York Rangers held a team meeting following a very concerning return to from the 4-Nations Face-Off break as they took an embarrassing 8-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres.

The New York Rangers faced off against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night for their first game since returning from the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, and it went horrible.
Within the first period the New York Rangers were forced to pull Igor Shesterkin as the Rangers trailed 5-0 in the first period.
Unfortunately it didn't stop there as the New York Rangers allowed another 3 goals between the second and third period resulting in a 8-2 loss against the Buffalo Sabres.
Following the game, several players were expected to speak with the media but it was revealed that they were taking longer than usual for their postgame interviews, as insider Vince Z. Mercogliano stated that a team meeting was likely in progress.
#NYR locker room still not open. Taking much longer than usual. Smells like a team meeting.
I mean it definitely makes sense as the entire team failed to show up during tonights match.
Head coach Peter Laviolette wouldn't reveal what was said behind closed doors but hinted at what the main issue was, here's what he had to say:
«This is not going to get us where we need to go, and we've got to digest that tonight. We've got to wake up tomorrow and be a determined group.»
Hopefully they do that as they will face the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday at 3:30PM.
