This season has been a mess for the second-year enforcer as he has been continuously called up and sent back down to Hartford over the past two months which has caused concern on his development and where he fits in the lineup.
The treatment of Rempe has been poor at best which has led New York Post NHL analyst Larry Brooks to weigh in on the situation.
He did not hold back on his views that this has been one of the biggest failures by the Rangers coaching staff this season.
It was revealed prior to the game against the Devils that Jimmy Vesey would be sitting out as a healthy scratch which meant Rempe would wind up back in the lineup.
This constant recall and demotion have been a wreck on his stat line.
The 22-year-old has played only four games this year with the Rangers and has zero points with seven penalty minutes.
On the flip side, he has played 12 games for the Wolfpack and only is amassed two goals with three points and 9 penalty minutes.
Fans took to the X platform expressing their views on what the Rangers should be doing with Rempe and even some fans or suggesting that he doesn't even belong in the NHL and that he brings nothing to the Rangers in terms of quality hockey.
Other fans have come to Rempe's defense as they feel that he does have something to offer the Rangers and the NHL especially with his size and his physicality.
No matter the case, the Rangers and the fan base remain on edge as the constant message from management is that the team requires major changes as they continued to watch their season erode after being the best team in the NHL last season.
