Rangers star player stuns fans as he expresses his appreciation for Team USA Captain Auston Matthews

Typically, Auston Matthews and Adam Foxx would be opponents on the ice. Now, as the Four Nations Face-Off gears up, both players wear the same crest and Fox was asked his opinion about Matthews as the Captain.
Rangers' Adam Fox shared his opinion of the three-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner, who is part of the leadership group from Team USA.
Matthews has been a pivotal piece in Team USA's win over Finland, as they demolished them 6-1.
The Finnish team would strike first, with Henri Jokiharju scoring the 1st goal with 7:58 in the opening period. Team USA would take it personally and would upend the lead with 6 unanswered goals being scored.
While the Tkachuk line was one of the USA's most successful checking lines, the line of Matthews, Jake Guentzel, and Jack Hughes impressed the most during their game against Finland.
While Team USA would make Finland look like amateurs, there's been no love lost in Canada, as the team would be characterized by the ill reception.
The chorus of boos would sound every time Matthews touched the puck in the Bell Centre, which for Matthews isn't irregular.
But instead of letting it affect him, he's focused on winning games which has impressed Adam Fox more than anything.
«You can tell the familiarity he has with the guys here and just someone who's so respected,» Fox said. «I think he's never going to really seem like the rah-rah yell at you, at least early in the practice here. But the way he is on the ice, the way he is in the locker room, the way around the hotel and everything, he just commands that respect.

The Rangers defenseman can take a lot away from how Matthews handles himself, and apply it to the team's situation when he returns from international play.
The team has been absent a captain since Jacob Trouba was traded, and Fox has had to step up to provide leadership in his stead.
While we may not know who will be the next Rangers Captain, there's a lot of wisdom on Team USA which Fox can pluck from.
Any lessons learned could be utilized if he ever does wear the "C" as the 29th Rangers captain.
