As the New York Rangers hit the ice for their morning skate on Saturday afternoon, a noticeable player was not seen on the ice.
That young player being New York Rangers 24-year old defenseman Zac Jones.
This news was first reported by Rangers reporter, Colin Stephenson who stated that Jones is out with an upper-body injury and is now listed day-to-day:
News like this is never a good thing, as the Rangers desperately need all the help they can get on the defensive side, so losing Jones is a huge loss.
Along with this troubling news, as it was stated in Colin Stephenson's post, Filip Chytil will come on at the end of the skate.
This indicates that Chytil will not be joining the New York Rangers for their game tonight against the Edmonton Oilers.
Despite Jones only playing 13 out of the 18 games this season with the Rangers, he has been a solid performer and a very reliable defender.
Within his first 13 games this season Jones has managed to tally 5 points (four assists, one goal).
Along with the 2023-2024 season, as he played 31 games with the Rangers only managed to put up nine points (seven assists, two goals).
