New York Rangers forward has officially filed for salary arbitration ahead of Friday's deadline.

Today in July 5th, 14 players filed for salary arbitration ahead of the deadline, allowing them to seek league intervention on their upcoming deals.
Among the 14 players was Rangers forward, Ryan Lindgren. While unrestricted free agents have control over their futures, on the other hand restricted free agents have limited options.

One of the options restricted free agents have is to file for a salary arbitration with their organization, allowing both parties to go through a hearing, where an independent arbitrator will make the final ruling.
Elliotte Friedman unveiled the list of players:
Jake Christiansen (Columbus Blue Jackets)
Connor Dewar (Toronto Maple Leafs)
Jack Drury (Carolina Hurricanes)
Ty Emberson (San Jose Sharks)
Jet Greaves (Columbus Blue Jackets)
Ryan Lindgren (New York Rangers)
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (Buffalo Sabres)
Beck Malenstyn (Buffalo Sabres)
Kirill Marchenko (Columbus Blue Jackets)
J.J. Moser (Tampa Bay Lightning)
Martin Necas (Carolina Hurricanes)
Spencer Stastney (Nashville Predators)
Joe Veleno (Detroit Red Wings)
Oliver Wahlstrom (New York Islanders)
Most notably on this list are likely Ryan Lindgren and Martin Necas who have both been mentioned in trade conversations recently.
Elliotte Friedman also noted, players who file for arbitration are not allowed to negotiate deals with other teams.
However, the organizations have a deadline of tomorrow to file for team opted salary arbitration.
