The New York Rangers were lucky to win their game against the Ottawa Senators by a score of 2-1 where it appeared the Senators were out playing the Rangers which led head coach Peter Laviolette to sing the praises of his goaltender Igor Shesterken.

It was one of those games where the goaltender bailed out the team as the senators gave an onslaught of shots as they outshot the Rangers 41-18. It seemed that the Rangers game was like their previous game against the Washington Capitals as they were also heavily outshot and had more turnovers than the opposition.

This type of game is not sustainable for any team in the NHL and it's clear that either a change in the roster or a shake up on the lines from Laviolette will be needed to get the team back on a balanced level.

It seems that their experiment of the rotating defenseman in their bottom two pairing will need to change along with more goals needed from some of their primary stars including Mika Zibanejad as he has only scored two goals through 10 games and has remained goalless over his last four.

One player that does not phased is Shesterkin as he continues to give stellar play for the Rangers while he continues his negotiations with general manager Chris Drury for a new contract extension.

Even though they won the game, it's clear the coach is not happy with his players and only time will tell on how he will handle the change that needs to come. The Rangers will have Saturday off and then we'll face off against the New York Islanders as it will be held at Madison Square Garden. Game time will be at 1:00 PM on November 3rd.
