New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette issues a concerning update on Filip Chytil's ongoing injury.

Peter Laviolette continues to use the same excuse for Filip Chytil as he remains «day-to-day, but not today.»

The 25-year old center has now missed his seventh straight game after suffering an unidentified upper body injury, after colliding with K'Andre Miller back in November 14th when the Rangers faced the San Jose Sharks.

Chytil eventually rejoined the New York Rangers in Calgary last week after being cleared of a concussion by specialists.

Along with that, Chytil has been skating regularly but has not taken part in a full practice with the team.

However, according to the organization policy, Peter Laviolette would not reveal why Chytil who was centering between Will Cuylle and Kaapo Kakko is still missing the team.

«He's been skating, he skated today,» said the coach, whose team was attempting to break a four-game regulation losing streak. «Right now, he's day-to-day and we haven't really practiced.»

Laviolette was evasive about exactly where Chytil is in his recovery. Repeated that he's day-to-day but skating. When asked if he's cleared for full contact, he noted they haven't had a full practice in a while. But would he be if they practiced today? «He's day-to-day.» #NYR>

Overall a concerning update as no additional updates have been made, which can ultimately lead to Chytil being placed on IR or even LTIR. Hopefully that isn't the case.
