It appears that Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller is gathering interest on the trade market as more teams continue to inquire about the cost for his services.

The 24-year-old defenseman has been catching a lot of fire from fans and management as his play has dropped dramatically which is a stark contrast to his past where he logged over 20 minutes per game and was a + 49 with 150 hits and well over 100 block shots.

With the Rangers continuing to retool their team by sending Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks and Kaapo Kakko to the Seattle Kraken earlier this week, many feel fat Miller will be the next trade target by numerous teams across the NHL.

David Pagnotta of the fourth period explained that he will be the next one to be gone.

Another player teams have been asking the New York Rangers about is defenceman K'Andre Miller, who is currently on the IR with an upper-body injury. He's set to become an RFA, with arbitration rights, in the summer.

Other pundits across the NHL including Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman feels the Rangers have not seem the expectations that were set by management for Miller and feels that a lot of the issues that are creeping up into the Rangers may center around Miller himself.

There's no question that Miller's season has had a very big role in what's gone wrong with the Rangers.

They really count on him, they have high hopes for him, they thought he was going to be a franchise cornerstone for a long time, and he hasn't been very good this year. And that throws your backline into chaos.

In my view, I think the problems are far bigger than just Miller himself. Granted his play has not been superb and has taken a step back, I also believe that management has thrown a poison pill to this dressing room which has seen players lose confidence and have a fear of either being traded or not trusting what's coming next as they watch their team get picked apart one player at a time.

Miller will become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights next year and will likely ask for more then his current salary.

Likely, general manager Chris Drury will try to trade him prior to the end of the season and acquire as many draft picks or prospects potentially even an NHL player in return as defensemen are at a premium in this league.
