After the New Jersey Devils' 5-0 stomping of the New York Rangers, they felt pretty proud, didn't they? The rival club is all grown up, and gearing up for a spot in the playoffs, and felt the need to rub it in after the victory.

Keep in mind, this is a team that only won a Stanley Cup during the 1994-1995 season which was shortened due to the lockout.

The Devils would shu tout the Rangers last night and utilize the moment instead of being classy, just to be petty.

This is right on the cusp of the Rangers moving on from their 2nd overall pick in 2019, Kaapo Kakko.

It's very easy to kick an opponent when they're down, what happened the last time they faced the Rangers in the playoffs? Let's not forget.

Either way here are Devils fans cheering after the video played:

The Rangers had to shift priorities, as they scratched Chris Kreider who hasn't produced a point in nine games.

While we can't attribute to the loss due to his absence, the team itself was unable to secure the victory, after having seven seasons of strong starts.

And this year, an odd year the Devils have decided to play games.

After the video played, they shifted to the bench where Jack Hughes was beaming, and considering he was the 1st overall that year, who wouldn't?

Whereas former 2nd overall Kaapo Kakko was shipped to Seattle, and instead of being on the cover of EA NHL, he's on Milk Cartons in New York.

Last night was a rough night for the Rangers and should take a lesson from the game.

Play to the best of your abilities, or else your rivals will not hesitate to kick you when you're down.

Do you think that the New Jersey Devils staff at the Prudential Center is classless?
