Veteran Gives Insight After Another Routine Embarrassing Loss
The Rangers defense non-existent? Check.
Igor Shesterkin had another back game? Check.
The Rangers have allowed two goals for the 22nd time this season in less than three minutes? Check.
Jonathan Marchessault scored a hat trick? Check. Ryan Lindgren goes down due to injury? Check.
The New York Rangers lost to the Vegas Golden Knights 5-2, dropping to 4-7-2 in January, and 11-12-2 in their last 25 games.
To say this is a slump, is the understatement of the year.
Blake Wheeler, who scored his 8th goal of the season early in the first, speaks to the media on how things haven't been going the Rangers way:
"To achieve the things we want to achieve, it's going to be harder than this. Great teams are made in fire and we're certainly in the fire right now. It's going to be a really useful situation for our team down the stretch if we handle it the right way"
Seems like the fire has been extinguished a while ago.
The Rangers are in danger of losing their spot for first in the Metropolitan Division tomorrow if they lose to the Ottawa Senators and the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Arizona Coyotes.
