The New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers have been longtime rivals. Well, today, the Flyers made a big move regarding one of their most questioned players.
Philadelphia re-signed Travis Konecny to a eight-year, $8.75 million per year contract.
Konecny, 27, had his name all over the trade market at least season's trade deadline and during this off-season. Ultimately, the winger stayed in Philly. He was the 24th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, selected by the Flyers.
Travis had 33 goals and 35 assists, tallying up to 68 points this season, having a breakout year.
We knew that if the Flyers would have traded him, it would've been a blockbuster deal, as they would want and most likely get a lot back for him. But at the end of the day, both sides came to a deal.
