It was revealed yesterday that Ottawa Senators forward David Perron

and former Metropolitan Division veteran has left the team indefinitely for personal reasons and his timeline to return is unknown.

Shortly after the announcement his wife Vanessa created a post on Instagram explaining the situation which involves their unborn daughter who is facing an extremely serious health risk when she will be born.

It's been a stressful time for the Perron family as they were forced to move into a hotel and watch their summer shorten while trying to stay positive as the news about their unborn daughter Elizabeth continued to change.

Perron who has been a frequent traveler in the NHL as he has played for seven NHL organizations which includes the Saint Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, Vegas Golden Knights, Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Ottawa Senators.

After spending two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings the 36-year-old decided to sign with the Ottawa Senators on a two-year contract worth $8 million while holding the cap hit of 4,000,000 per season.

Head coach Travis Green did not give a timeline on when Perron would return to the team, but his family are in all our prayers as they face this difficult challenge, and we all hope for a great outcome and a speedy recovery.
