Former Stanley Cup Champion Maurice Lemay sadly passes away at 62-years old

Devastating news strikes the hockey community as former Stanley Cup champion and Vancouver Canucks player Maurice �Moe' Lemay has passed away at 62-years old.

Recent reportes have surfaced confirming the passing of 62-year old Moe Lemay who passed away over the weekend.

The Vancouver Canucks organization has sadly confirmed this news with a recent statement they made of X, as they expressed their condolences:

We are deeply saddened to hear that Canucks' Alumni Moe Lemay has tragically passed away at the age of 62.

Moe proudly wore the Canucks jersey for 279 games between 1981 and 1987, contributing to a total of 317 NHL games in his career. His passion and dedication made him a beloved member of the Canucks family, and his legacy will forever be a part of our team's history.

Our deepest condolences go out to Moe's family and friends during this difficult time.

Moe Lemay: Forever a Canuck.

Lemay spent a big part of his career with the Canucks as he played for their organization for six seasons from 1981-1986 after being drafted by them in the 5th round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. Lemay set a career high in the 1984-85 season when he managed to score 21 goals and 31 assists for a total 52 points, while playing alongside Patrik Sundstrom and Cam Neely.

Moe, then ended up moving to the Edmonton Oilers at the beginning of the 1986-87 season, where he etched his name on the Stanley Cup after defeating the Philadelphia Flyers in game 7.
