Former New York Rangers forward Anthony Duclair will likely be out of the Islander's lineup, according to Lou Lamiorello.

Lamiorello explained that his injury may not keep him out of the lineup the full season, but they won't have a definitive timeline for the forward until after testing is complete.

The 29-year-old Duclair will have to halt his season in Long Islander, as this is the 2nd time in 3 years, that the forward has been injured.

During the 2022-2023 season, he suffered a torn Achilles Tendon, which kept him out of the majority of the season, limiting his play to only 20 regular season games, and 20 playoff games with the Panthers.

The New York Islanders will miss the spark in the offense he was brought in to give, as the team's last major move brought in Bo Horvat.

That alone hasn't moved the needle for the Islanders, and during his short time in an Islanders sweater, has put up 3 points( 2 G, 1 A).

Duclair negotiated himself, a $14 Million dollar deal with GM Lou Lamiorello, and will wear Islanders colors for the next four years, should things go well.

His current AAV is $3.5 Million, and if he can turn up the production next season there's no telling what kind of raise he can get himself next.

His career year was in 2021-2022, under Andrew Brunette's leadership with the Florida Panthers which saw him score 58 points( 31 G, 27 A) in 74 games for the Panthers.

His tenure in Florida would be shortlived however, after 2023-2024 he would find himself in San Jose, playing 56 games with the Sharks, scoring 27 points( 11 G, 16 A), and would later be traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, scoring 15 points( 8 G, 5 A ) in 17 games.

He arrived with the best intentions in New York, and was hopeful to capture the brilliance he's shown which started in Ottawa, and kept a steady pace in Florida.

The Islander's offense has been anemic without Duclair, and now with a 2.60 GF/GP, it looks like the Isles will once again be the laughingstock of New York.

Anthony Duclair could be a superstar, if he could find a place to call home long-term, and could stay healthy.

It's not surprising he's been the best in situations where he has the confidence of his coach and GM behind him, i.e. Tampa Bay, Florida, and Ottawa.

Can he recapture his brilliance from 2021-2022 once again?
