The Columbus Blue Jackets have been going through a coaching carousel ever since last year, and it continues with another firing.
Accoring to Aaron Portzlime of The Athletic, Hockey Hall of Famer and former Ranger rival Mark Recchi was relieved of his duties by the Columbus Blue Jackets as the assistant coach.
He was already thrown into a tough situation after the whole Mike Babcock investigation and firing, coaching a bottom five team, and this is just the icing on the cake for how his tough year has been.
Recchi still had one year left on his contract in Columbus.
Portzline also states that both Steve McMurray and Jarred Bold will return to the coaching staff next year.
Recchi had a great career. He played for nearly every New York Rangers rival. Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers, Montreal Canadiens, Carolina Hurricanes, Atlanta Thrashers, and Boston Bruins. He spent most of his career bouncing back and forth between the two Pennsylvania teams, Penguins and Flyers.
