Legendary NHL Head Coach has shared his status post-surgery in an update.
There may be troubling news, following the update after former NHL New York Rangers coach, Mike Keenan shared news of his health.
Saturday morning, Keenan went under the knife, for open-heart surgery and would let his fans know on Social Media how it went:
"No longer Italy's National Head Coach, but will be their hockey consultant. Recovering well from open heart surgery," revealed Keenan on Saturday morning
It's disappointing to hear that he has lost the role of head coach for Italy's national team, but it is great news to hear he is in doing well after a scary procedure to go under.
It's been announced that Jukka Jalonen, will be stepping in to take over coaching duties.
Keenan is a legendary coach in the sport of hockey, decorated as a winning coach in the OHL(Peterborough Petes), AHL(Rochester Americans), NHL(New York Rangers), and KHL(Magnitogorsk Metallurg).
His love for the game is evident, despite recent health scares, as he has recently battled heart surgery and prostate cancer in 2018. It shows how dedicated to the sport he is.
The most important thing for the 74-year-old, is to maintain his health while focusing on a downgraded role for the Italian National Team, as a Hockey Consultant.
