Former Sportsnet host Jeff Marek makes shocking headlines as he announces his return
Beloved NHL analyst Jeff Marek and Sportsnet made shocking headlines this offseason as the two unexpected parted ways. But now Jeff Marek has officially announced his return.
During this past offseason everyone within the hockey community was shocked when they heard the news, that Jeff Marek was let go by Sportsnet, one of the biggest NHL networks in Canada.
However, after some time the real reason was revealed as to why the two parted ways after so many years, along with parting ways with Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast, and ultimately it wasn't a good reason.
In July, Sportsnet quietly parted ways with Jeff Marek.
It wasn't the kind of move that normally would have gone unannounced, but the reason behind it led both parties to choose silence.
Marek had been questioned by the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and NHL security for allegedly leaking which players teams were drafting moments before picks were publicly announced, according to league and media industry sources.
Since the situation happened, Marek has hinted at a possible return, but on Monday afternoon he released an official statement on social media in a video, stating that he will in fact be returning.
Unfortunately there wasn't any details of when he will return or what he will be doing once he returns, but the video displayed the overwhelming support and love he received from fans since parting ways with Sportsnet. Marek did make one writhing thing clear with his simple message:
«Don't worry, I'm coming back»
The video displayed multiple fans expressing how much they've missed Marek, as he was a pretty big name for years as he worked along side Elliotte Friedman and became the ultimate duo. So many are excited for his return.
