More devastating news surfaces as NHL video coach and pro scout sadly passes away at the young age of 46.

Truly some saddening news as Scott Masters, who was a former video coach and pro scout who worked alongside several NHL organizations, has passed away at 46-years old.

"RIP to former Avs video coach Scott Masters. Scott also worked in the Florida, St. Louis and Montreal organizations."

Masters started his career in the NHL back in 2001 and worked throughout the league until 2019. Masters was a video coach since 2001-2013 with the St. Louis Blues, Colorado Avalanche, and Florida Panthers. Until he was hired by the Montreal Canadiens as a pro scout for their organization until 2019.

During a recent a podcast, Masters showed his gratitude towards current St. Louis Blues GM and President of Hockey Operations, Doug Armstrong as he played a massive role in his career.

Doug Armstrong was a great mentor in that program where he was open minded to all different aspects. He believed in pro scouts in the field, he believed in amateur scouts in the field and he also believed in analytics. Analytics were becoming big at that time and he also loved scouting video for
pros and trades and free agency. He gave me that opportunity to do some of that scouting via video on the pro level and with technology I
could do so much more.

There has been officially confirmation on what the cause of death was.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Scott Master during this difficult time.
