Katie Gaudreau, sister of the late Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau revealed a touching tribute towards her late brothers by engraving their initials into her wedding ring.
The tribute shows the deep love she had for her brothers as her family has been gripped by the devastating losses of both brothers after being hit by an alleged drunk driver on August 29th while cycling near their family residence in New Jersey.
Katie's wedding was slated to take place the day after the accident which was postponed for obvious reasons. The pure shock and sadness of this event has gripped the hockey world along with other professional sports as they gave tributes towards Johnny and Matthew.
Fans across North America sent posts, created vigils around Nationwide Arena in Columbus and at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary where Johnny was a prominent figure for the Calgary Flames for many years.
The Blue Jackets announced on September 5th that memorial service will be held for the family and close friends and will have a live stream available for fans to witness the service. The service will be taking place on Monday September 9th at 12:00 PM.
We wish to extend our sympathies and support towards the Gaudreau family, their friends along with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Calgary Flames and the NHLPA.
