Katie Gaudreau speaks out for the first time since losing her brothers Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau
Last Thursday the hockey community lost both Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau after they were hit by a drunk driver while riding their bicycles.
The two Salem, New Jersey natives, were just 24 hours away from celebrating their sister's Katie's wedding, that would take place over the weekend. However, the wedding was postponed due to the tragic incident. Since then, many have been curious about how Katie was doing after losing her two brothers.
Just moments ago, Katie has broken her silence for this first time since her brothers passed away.
Katie has released a heartbreaking message on instagram stating:
"To know these two was to love these two. There are absolutely no words I have to express the bond my family shared. The entire world knows there would never have been a John without Matty or Matty without John. The absolute best big brothers a little girl could have asked for. This will never be a goodbye post because I will never stop saying your names and honoring you both. I'll take the best care of mom, dad, Kristen, Mer, Madeline, and your babies."
Such a terrible tragedy, on behalf of everyone at NY Rangers Insider we continue to send our condolences as the family grieves through this devastating time.
