Legendary and Long-time UMD Bulldogs Hockey Coach has sadly passed away at 77-years old.

Mike Sertich is well known throughout the hockey community as he's held the position of coach at the University of Minnesota-Duluth's hockey team from 1982 to 2000, where he won three consecutive WCHA Championships with the team, in 1983, 1984, and 1985.

During the 1985 season, Sertich lead the Bulldogs to an impressive season with a record of 36-9-3.

Sertich has an impressive coaching record of 350-328-44 and even won the Penrose Award in 1984 that was given to the Coach of The Year by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

Before coming a coach, Sertich also played for the Bulldogs from 1966 to 1969 and won the «Most Improved Player» as a senior, during his time with the UMD Bulldogs he managed to tally a total of 9 points (2 goals and 7 assists), on of those goals scored on legendary Blackhawks goalie Tony Esposito.

Everyone here at NY Rangers Insider sends our deepest condolences to Sertich's family and friends, as he leaves behind daughter Lori, and two sons John and Scott. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and one brother.

May you rest in peace.
