Longtime sports broadcaster Christine Simpson has been fired from Sportsnet
Longtime sports broadcaster Christine Simpson has just been fired from Sportsnet after several decades with the network.
After 26-years with the network, Christine Simpson has revealed that she's parting ways with Sportsnet.
Earlier on Wednesday, she's made an announcement on X.com, reflecting on the years she's spent with the network.
Following Christine Simpson's announcement on X, Sportsnet PR then later responded to her post and thank her for one of the women who paved the way for future generations in sports broadcasting.
The 59-year old, started her broadcasting career when Rogers Sportsnet first launched in 1998. However, it didn't take longer before she became one of the more recognizable faces in hockey as a reporter and hosting "Showtime with Chris Simpson."
At this time there hasn't been much clarification on why this departure happened but hopefully soon the truth will be revealed.
