Kim Weiss is now one more step closer to making into the NHL as a coach, as she was just hired by the Colorado Eagles as the new video coach for this upcoming season.
Weiss was the first-ever female coach in the NCAA Division III history, when she got a coaching position at Trinity College last season.
"We're excited to add Matt and Kim to the Eagles coaching staff," said Avalanche Assistant General Manager and Eagles General Manager Kevin McDonald. «Both individuals bring strong coaching and playing backgrounds and will be valuable additions to Head Coach Aaron Schneekloth's staff."
The 35-year old, started her professional hockey career by playing with Trinity College back in the 2010-11 season, and then later spent two years as an assistant coach in the NAHL, and moving up to an associate head coach for the Maryland Black Bears.
It has now been over a decade later, and Weiss will return to the place where it all started and coach for the Trinity College.
