The NHLPA has filed a grievance for former Colorado Avalanche center, Ryan Johansen. The Philadelphia Flyers terminated Johansen's contract during the off-season, for what they considered a "material breach".

The former Avalanche center, who was acquired by the Philadelphia Flyers was dropped by the Flyers, and his contract terminated Briere and the Flyers alleged that Johansen was lying to them, and used it as a reason to get rid of the center.
After his arrival in Philadelphia, of course, it didn't help matters when the Flyers put him on waivers. The Flyers were hoping another team would swoop him up and take on his salary, or he'd clear and be sent to Lehigh Valley.
However, it was discovered that he was injured and would remain on the regular season roster all season. This was after the 24 hours had passed when teams could have claimed him.
Marty Walsh and the NHLPA have once again taken up arms against the NHL and the Philadelphia Flyers who have acted grossly and without due process for Johansen.
it's awful convinient for the Flyers to claim that Johansen was lying to them, as he couldn't play for the team.
Of course, didn't seem to matter to the Briere, who would only have to eat $4 Million dollars of $8 Million AAV Johansen's contract which is , of which the other half was retained by the Nashville Predators.
Johansen has played more than 900 games in the NHL, scoring 578 points(202 G, 376 A). As of now Johansen remains a UFA and is free to sign where he pleases, and this could be another scandal rocking the Philadelphia Flyers who have had to deal with other issues in the past.
From Ivan Fedotov, Matvei Michkov, and now Alexei Kolosov, it seems that Danny Briere and the front office don't know how to make friends.
Kolosov was left alone in a hotel room for 3 months in Lehigh Valley, so this kind of carelessness tracks for Briere.
