After 13 days, the dedication period for Johnny Gaudreau had come to a close on Monday. In a post on the Flames website, they have detailed plans for the items left at the memorial.
The Calgary Flames have decided to take pictures of the memorial to keep the messages and memories left by the monument and give them to the Gaudreau's as a digital scrapbook to show how beloved Johnny was in Calgary.
Fans left plenty of hockey sticks, which will be repurposed for charity's sake, as they will be turned into benches and will make their way to charities in Calgary.
Many, many #13 Johnny Gaudreau jerseys were also left at the memorial and will be upcycled into blankets and donated to local charities too.
The stuffed toys left, made of cloth and cotton, will be donated to Mikael Backlund and Mackenzie Weeger's favorite charity: Parachutes for Pets.
The hockey community will mourn Johnny and Matty's passing for some time, as we here at New York Rangers Insider offer the Gaudreau's family and friends, our deepest condolences at this time.
