Rangers divisional rivals captain faces major setback as he suffers an unfortunate injury
New York Rangers divisional rivals captain, Alexander Ovechkin makes concerning exit from Monday mornings skate.
Everything seemed to be going fine, until Ovechkin had just completed his warm-up and instantly made his way to the bench showing signs of pain.
He didn't even finish the drill. Just headed straight for the bench, received a few pats on the back from teammates, and then went right to the locker room.
The unfortunate incident was captured by fans but so far no official updates have been released on his condition. However, many fans are concerned as no update has been released on his condition.
At 39-years old , Ovechkin is closing in on securing another memorable season, as he's still chasing Wayne Gretzky's all-time NHL goals record. Ovechkin currently sits at 843 career goals and is only 42 away from passing Gretzky.
Hopefully he's fine and he can return to training camp so he can continue to work hard and achieve the milestone of surpassing Gretzky's all time NHL goal record.
