Insider Details How Much Igor Shesterkin's Next Contract Could Be
Reports are surfacing that detail what star goalie Igor Shesterkin of the New York Rangers could be paid on his next contract.
It appears that the New York Rangers, GM Chris Drury, and the Rangers starting goalie Igor Shesterkin have come to a stalemate in contract negotiations.
According to ESPN's Casey Ditzel Shesterkin is seeking an AAV of $12 Million, which would make him the highest-paid goalie in the history of the NHL.
The 28-year-old goalie played 55 games for the Rangers last season with a 36-17-2 record, 4 shutouts, a 2.58 GAA, and a .912 SV%.
Shesterkin numbers may have dipped slightly this season, but he has remained consistent in net and helped push the Rangers to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Last year, saw him step back a bit, but given the lack of defensive help in front would make sense for the production argument.
Shesterkin can certainly keep consistent if he can once again take the Rangers to the limit in 2024-2025 and will them to the playoffs once again.
