The most hated player in the NHL Nick Cousins has officially signed a contract
The most hated player in the National Hockey League and former Stanley Cup champion, Nick Cousins has finally signed a contract with Ottawa Senators.
It was just announced that Nick Cousins signed a one-year deal worth $800k, and will be heading into the 2024-25 season with the Ottawa Senators.
Nick Cousins is well known for being a dirty player on the ice and seems to be the centre of a lot controversy last season.
During the 2023-24 season, Kevin Bieksa of Hockey Night in Canada called out Cousins, and even called him a Rat', and went further it say his style of play doesn't belong in today's league. After he laid some high hits on his opponents, and his refused to drop the gloves after dirty plays.
"I've never done this before, but I have to do it because this is a trend with this player. And he's done this a numerous amount of times, ramming a guy's head into the boards.
I'm told he's a good guy. I'm told he's liked by his teammates. And he's actually a pretty good hockey player. But somebody in that organization, or somebody that he respects, has to sit down and say, 'Enough of this' ... like, that's a rat to me. I'm sorry, it is."
However, the Ottawa Senators have added a solid depth guy to their organization, and someone who brings some winning experience to the team.
