It appears that Jacob Trouba was part of the Detroit Red Wings Yzerplan until he shot that notion down.
The Rangers' inability to move Captain Jacob Trouba has broad implications for the team's cap space, and as a result of the failed trade, the locker-room dynamic has become worse.
«The team dynamic is 'messy right now,' according to one league source, given the Trouba drama and the devious manner in which Goodrow was waived to work around San Jose being on his 15-team no-trade list,» Mercogliano reported.
Drury's coldblooded moves, waiving Barclay Goodrow have rubbed some players in the wrong way:

Drury waived Goodrow after he blocked the trade at first, knowing that Mike Grier would claim Goodrow on waivers.
It of course hasn't been received well, by Rangers players.
While Trouba's entire ordeal has been in the public eye:
«several teams that otherwise would have been in big-time on Trouba now likely to wait until next year when Dr. Tyson-Trouba's residency ends with the defenseman having one final season on his contract,» Larry Brooks of The New York Post reported.
As a result of Kelly Tyson-Trouba's residency not ending until 2025, many teams will not make a move for the defenseman until then. There should still be a market for the defenseman at the end of next season though.
Trouba's 2024 campaign wrapped up in disappointing fashion, scoring only 22 points( 3 G, 19 A) and was on ice for 47% of the Rangers goals during the season.
The Rangers need a better blueline that can handle the Stanley Cup champion, Florida Panther's bruising style of play. Moving Trouba would allow for the Rangers to make an upgrade in order to take on the Panthers once again and hopefully win.
Instead, the team will have a fissured roster and an unhappy captain in the locker.
