According to several reports Peter Laviolette's fate as head coach of the New York Rangers has just been confirmed as the team continues to spiral out of control.
The New York Rangers have lost 10 out of their last 13 games leaving many fans assuming that Peter Laviolette is on the hot seat.
However, that is not necessarily the case. Larry Brooks of The New York Post provided some interesting insight into what the Rangers management group thinks regarding a coaching change.

«The hierarchy has no stomach to fire Laviolette after firing Gerard Gallant two years ago and David Quinn four years ago,» Brooks wrote. «There is no stomach to affix the blame on yet another coach instead of taking care of the coach-averse core.»
Which is true considering the Rangers didn't give Quinn of Gallant any time to prove themselves, leaving the team in the same situation, so it begs the question if the coaching is the real problem?
The Rangers have now ran relatively the same core for the last few years and continuously run into the same issues, as the team lacks physicality and strong defensive play to win the Stanley Cup.
Something that is now hurting their regular season. Along with the Rangers core is getting older and their offensive game doesn't look the same anymore.
At this point it's no secret that there is something completely off about the Rangers, whether it be their confidence, or outside noise from all the trade speculation.
If the Rangers fail to turn their season around soon, Peter Laviolette may be out of job regardless if it's his fault or not.
