Just recently, the St. Louis Blues made a surprising move but acquiring Cam Fowler from the Anaheim Ducks.
After the move was completed NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reveals that the Blues are not done making moves, and the Rangers could be a team willing to make a trade.
Two days ago Elliotte friedman dropped a new episode of 'Saturday Headlines,' and reported that the Blues are now looking to move on from 2x Stanley Cup Champion and veteran winger Brandon Saad after the team made him a healthy scratch.
Sunday night the Rangers also made headlines for almost the same reasons, as they listed their former first round pick Kaapo Kakko as a healthy scratch right before they faced the Blues.
Both players have been struggling with their respective teams, and some change of scenery could be what the two players need. However, Saad has a full no-trade clause this season, and next year it becomes a 12-team no-trade clause.
But According to Elliotte Friedman, Brandon Saad is willing to waive his no-trade clause to make a deal happen.
Now, I don't think the Rangers will give up their 24-year old forward Kaapo Kakko for a 32-year old forward who has been struggling as of recently, but maybe they can figure something out as the Rangers desperately need someone who can make difference.
In 28 games for the St. Louis Blues this year, Saad has had a down year, having just four goals, and six assists for 10 points, and is currently on his lowest scoring pace since 2012-13.
Do you think the New York Rangers should be interested in acquiring this former 2x Stanley Cup Champion?
