Washington Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren takes a very unexpected shot at the New York Rangers organization after Wednesday night's game.

On Wednesday night the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals faced off in a very hard fought match that ended up going into overtime. However the Rangers fell short in OT as Tom Wilson of the Capitals netted the game winning goal with less than a minute to go.
Following the game former Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren's brother, Charlie Lindgren who was the starting goaltender in last nights game had a few words on behalf of his brother after he was traded.
Recently the Rangers traded Ryan Lindgren and Jimmy Vesey to the Colorado Avalanche. Ryan Lindgren has been surrounded by trade rumours all season long, and with him being a pending free agent, the Rangers made the move to trade him.
Here's what Charlie had to say about the recent trade, after beating the New York Rangers in overtime last night:
"It felt good to get the win for my brother and, obviously, for the team here," Charlie said to reporters following the victory. "My brother laid it on the line every single night for this team. He loved being a Ranger, loved the group over there. I know for a fact they are definitely going to miss him. There's going to be a big hole back there."
Despite Ryan Lindgren's love for the New York Rangers organization he seems happy to move onto a new chapter in his career with the Colorado Avalanche:
"You kind of always see the rumours, especially this time of year. I saw my name floating around, so yeah, definitely thought that was a possibility," Ryan told reporters in Colorado when asked about the trade.

"New York, yeah, was definitely up and down. There was a lot of stuff going on. It's a new chapter (in Colorado)."

Lindgren spent the entirety of his career in New York after the Boston Bruins selected him in the second round of the 2016 draft. In total, the 27-year-old racked up 387 games with the Rangers over seven seasons.
