Chris Kreider's days in New York are reportedly over: Recent announcement confirms he'll be traded

We're fast approaching the NHL trade deadline, as teams prepare to reshape their rosters based on need. It seems as if the Rangers need to retool their lineup, and with Chris Kreider on injured reserve, could we see him moved by March 7th as well?
Chris Kreider is literally one figurehead of the New York Rangers organization. At the moment he's the longest-tenured Rangers player, as he's worn the blue shirt for 13 years.
It was reported that he was placed on IR this week, due to a nagging back injury that started bothering him at the beginning of the year.
Now there's talk that Kreider's time could be ended with a trade, as GM Chris Drury kicks into gear for the deadline.
The Rangers would have to figure out how to move his $6.5 million cap hit, and make sure the team he's dealt to next isn't on his 15-team no-trade clause.
Kreider, like the majority of the Rangers players this season have underperformed to a degree, that you could've thought they were an AHL team at times.
He's scored a lot of goals this season but has failed to create plays, and scoring chances this year.
He's only posted 21 points (17 G, 4 A) and would provide one goal for Team USA during the Four Nations Face-Off.
Hardly the kind of elite scoring we've seen from him in the last three seasons.
It it does come to pass that Kreider is traded, we're certain they'll be contenders, and willing to make a generous offer to the Rangers.
As it stands now, Kreider will be recovering from a back injury that has plagued him throughout the year.
