Anaheim Ducks superstar's fate with the New York Rangers has just been confirmed
For as much talk as there was about a Trevor Zegras trade at the beginning of the off-season, nothing has materialized.
According to multiple reports, the Rangers were linked to the Ducks dynamic forward Trevor Zegras.
But the Rangers have never been interested in Zegras, according to The Athletic's Arthur Staple who covers the Blueshirts.
«I don't think the Rangers have ever been interested in Zegras, much as the local kid would love to be a Ranger.» The Athletic's Arthur Staple wrote. "And if the Rangers were in on either of those guys [Alex Tuch being the other], it would take a lot more than Kakko as the centerpiece of whatever was going the other way.» While Zegras would be a great piece to acquire, it seems he doesn't fit the current Rangers lineup.
The 23-year-old has been dealing with ongoing injury issues, playing only 23 games last season scoring 15 points( 6 G, 9 A).
The Ducks would ask for a Kingdom for Zegras, and it's a ransom many can't pay including the Rangers.
As training camp inches forward, it seems unlikely that major lineup changes will occur to make room for Zegras.
