Bonino Wearing His Neck Guard For A Special Reason
The Rangers are about to face off against the Edmonton Oilers soon!
Nick Bonino has 19 points (7G, 12A) in 38 games played against the Edmonton Oilers in his career.
He has played very well this season and is one of the first players to consistently wear his neck guard.
The reason for that, his daughter has to wear a neck guard for youth hockey, so her dad decided to do the same.
"Now she sees me playing and I'm wearing one, too."
The death of Adam Johnson on October 28th from a skate cut while playing in a professional league in England has spurred debate in locker rooms across the league, with several players deciding it's better to be safe than sorry.
